Job Description
  • Planning: Manage the planning of personnel and equipment; ensure the planning board is kept up to date and changes are made as and when required; ensure project demands are achieved whilst working closely with other internal departments.
  • Personnel Management: Partake in investigation/disciplinary meetings; participate in the recruitment process; conduct Operator appraisals, attendance meetings; manage the workload of the Operations Administrator; manage day today operational issues; deputise for the Operations Manager where necessary, mentor other Planners and support professional development of the team.
  • Operations: Ensure resources are managed and utilised in the most effective manner.
  • SHEQ: Ensure full compliance with SHEQ standards and procedures.
  • Communication: Ensure Operators have the correct information regarding job assignments; build and maintain excellent relationships with external suppliers; take out of hours calls on evenings and weekends.

Purpose of the job

As a first line and main point of contact for the project staff, your responsibility will be to manage the daily planning and management of personnel and equipment within the Project Operations Division. The successful candidate will need to deputise for the Operations Manager during holidays/absence. This role will also have one direct report which will be an Operations Administrator. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a full time, permanent position to be based at our Teesside office. Additional travel to other UK offices, project sites and the Netherlands will be required.

Education & Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience.
  • People management experience.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • Flexible and willing to be on call on evenings and weekends.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SAP.
  • Proficient in ICT Microsoft Office Packages.
  • Excellent level of English both verbal and written.
  • Valid UK driving licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.
