Local Unit & Position Description

  • Delivering scopes of work in accordance with agreed budget and timeframe, meeting client KPI’s where applicable.
  • Acting as a discipline lead.
  • Mentoring junior engineers.
  • Preparing tenders and proposals.
  • Reviewing of Mechanical and Process Engineering documents such as project philosophies, P&IDs, equipment drawings and calculations, weld procedures, pipe stress analysis reports, material selection reports, etc.
  • Maintain high performance without compromising on quality or integrity, when under pressure.
  • Identifying issues or obstacles and proposing and implementing solutions.
  • Communicating with both specialist and non-specialist stakeholders.
  • Safety focussed attitude with an awareness of the implications and consequences of our analysis and work to the safety of offshore operations and personnel.

Position Qualifications

Essential:

  • Fluent English (spoken and written).
  • Degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline.
  • Between 5- and 10-years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer within the Energy Sector.
  • Willingness to learn new skills as DNV adapts to meet the needs of a changing world.

Desirable:

  • Chartership with a relevant Engineering Institution.
  • Experience working with or at an EPC.
  • Experience working with or at manufacturers of static and rotating equipment and piping.
  • Offshore experience with BOSIET Qualification.
  • Strong understanding of NDT, welding and materials.
  • Understanding of applicable offshore legislation for the UKCS. Knowledge & understanding of applicable codes and standards used within the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Understanding of the challenges posed by the Energy Transition.
  • Knowledge of the Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations
  • Construction and commissioning experience

We are seeking for a talented and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy Systems CAPEX team within the Offshore Infrastructure team.

Company & Business Area Description

You will work within a motivated, supportive team of engineers, project managers and support staff with various experience levels within the CAPEX Section and wider Offshore Infrastructure Department, on a wide range of exciting projects and initiatives, to ensure existing energy assets are safe, and to prepare ourselves and clients for a secure energy supply as we move through the energy transition.

Some typical projects are:

  • Complex greenfield and brownfield development projects for third party. verification including design review and field inspection and commissioning
  • Technical qualifications of emerging technologies and designs for energy transition.
  • Advisory support to internal and external clients on wide range of traditional and renewable energy projects.

Our clients range from owners, operators, EPC contractors, design houses, yards and manufacturers, and emerging energy transition companies etc.

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer, particularly in the areas of materials and the design, fabrication and testing of static equipment, rotating equipment and piping. As a Senior Engineer, you will be expected to be able to apply your expertise and act as discipline lead, to assure the highest quality of service delivery to meet customer requirements within the timeframe, costs and quality standards established.

In this role you will also support on bidding and assist with the development of a growing team of engineers. The role will be office based (hybrid model) with field trips as needed by the projects.
