Petrofac is currently looking to recruit a Senior Logistics Coordinator for 6-month contract to be based in Aberdeen, UK.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage the delivery of external logistics companies to provide a cost-effective aviation and marine, & warehousing.
  • Aviation – flight schedules, supporting offshore operations, whilst retaining flexibility.
  • Marine – fleet mix (fixed and spot vessels) sailing frequency and routing and sharing.
  • Supply Base – ensuring efficient operations and timely vessel turnarounds.
  • Warehousing – Management of services to ensure cost effective level of support.
  • Ensuring the correct level of safety and quality is achieved by working in conjunction with the HSEQ function.
  • Maximise vessel utilisation and enable safe loading and unloading.
  • Arrange special deliveries of emergency materials in conjunction with the Aviation Provider.
  • Adapt materials plan to minimise impact of unplanned events such as breakdowns and poor weather.
  • Liaise with Offshore representatives to ensure that there is offshore deck space available for outbound cargo.
  • Provide out of hours on-call cover for logistics issues and emergency response.
  • Allocation of vessels and development of sailing schedule and vessel routing.
  • Co-ordination of daily marine activities.
  • Resolution of vessel capacity shortfalls, including shares and spot hires.
  • Contingency planning of vessel movements in event of weather delays.
  • Arrangement of vessel charters, supply vessel, ERRV, AHV and ROV.
  • To anticipate issues that might affect efficient operations and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Educate stakeholders in the opportunities presented by effective logistics.
  • Enroll stakeholders in supporting and optimising the strategy.
  • Identifying and overcoming impediments to an optimum logistics strategy.
  • Assist assets with walk down of offshore and on shore stores including vendor managed inventory.

Essential Skills:


  • Experience of offshore logistics operations, particularly work execution, and planning, in the Operations/Duty Holder environment.
  • Working knowledge of same operations in Well Engineering environment an advantage.
  • Significant experience in managing analogous logistics services for an operational organisation (preferably an Operator or Major Service Contractor).
  • Experience in coordinating the movement of goods to and from offshore assets in the North Sea.
  • Experience in Customs clearance and in freight forwarding via land, air and sea.
