Petrofac is currently looking to recruit a Graduate Apprentice - Instrument, Measurement and Control on a permanent basis based in Aberdeen, UK.

Key Responsibilities:



Develop skills in the following areas Engineering design, modification, construction and operational support of the following instrumentation equipment for offshore oil and gas facilities:

  • Engineering principles
  • Field measurements and indications
  • Control & monitoring systems
  • Shutdown and Safety Systems
  • Fire and Gas detection and systems
  • Safety Protection and Control systems
  • Industrial IT networks & cyber security
  • Satellite, radio, fibre optic, coaxial and hardwired communications
  • Project Management

Essential Skills:


  • SQA Higher: BBBB to include Maths and either Engineering Science, Physics or Technological Studies.
  • English at National 5 Grade C or above is required if not held at Higher.
  • Other qualifications and work experience will also be considered but these must meet the entry level of the RGU course application process.
  • An aptitude for learning is essential and must be self-motivated whilst working as part of a team or on individual’s initiative.
  • Passion for a future career in engineering and have a logical approach to problem solving and an inquisitive mind.
