Carnival Corporation is proactively developing its fleet towards a more sustainable future and as such we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Marine Engineerrole within Corporate Shipbuilding. We are looking for an individual who can confidently provide and apply technical expertise to the design, construction and conversion of cruise ships as well as to the operation of the existing fleet.

The Role

As a Senior Marine Engineer within the Technical and Asset Management team, you’ll be a recognised expert within the marine engineering discipline for plan approval activities. It will be your responsibility to represent the marine engineering area of expertise in meetings and visits with key stakeholders, this may be as the lead person. Participation in the design development, system design and evaluation of equipment specifications to ensure that all statutory and company safety and operational standards and requirements are observed throughout is a pivotal part of this role. This includes maintaining contact and liaising with the relevant departments of Carnival Corporation’s operating companies as applicable, within the levels determined by the Principal Manager – Marine Engineering.

Operating as a subject matter expert in marine engineering, you’ll show willingness to work with and communicate at all levels across the organisation and possess a holistic, project based approach to work, paired with excellent accuracy/attention to detail in all aspects of work.


About You

You’ll have a Bachelor degree (or MSc) in a specialist topic or significant technical experience in the relevant area. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate extensive experience of the machinery systems basic and detailed design and/or of construction in shipbuilding as a senior engineer, and/or operation of ships as a sea-going senior engineer, and/or a proven expert in specific ship systems.

You’ll possess thorough knowledge and understanding of cruise ship machinery and equipment through to the systems design and construction process and be able to critically examine and analyse technical information and make informed recommendations when appropriate.
