If you are looking for a career with a business where people really count, look no further than JCB.Overview Of The RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join the structures and hydraulics team within JCB. The successful applicant would be responsible for leading a team of engineers delivering design, development and testing of all structural, bodywork and across the full range of JCB products. This will cover everything from delivery of new products, supporting new concept developments as well as resolving production and service issues. Ensuring all background calculations and documentation has been completed and liaising with development and machine teams to ensure components are tested and validated as well as interacting with suppliers to ensure component is installed and tested to meet their requirements.JCB are at the cutting edge of implementing new technologies to reduce emissions. The team today are working on electric vehicles and also hydrogen engine installation. The structures and Hydraulics team are an integral part of this design process.
  • Working within the Hydraulic and Structures Category team, with a focus on Hydraulic system design
  • Leading a small team of engineers (UK & IDC) to take system requirements from the product team specification and robustly deliver the required detailed solution.
  • Be responsible for writing and checking supplier specification requirements, ensuring the chosen system, meets all Legislation, Customer Requirements, and system Cost Targets.
  • Produce and check hydraulic calculations to ensure robust system design.
  • To take the lead in preparing documentation and presentations for Sub Sections of the Technical Reviews (TR Process)
  • To use system simulation and test rigs to provide proof of concept.
  • To ensure all hydraulic DFMEA are conducted and completed robustly
  • Ensure Fit for Purpose documentation is completed, and any testing requirements is fed back to the product team, and development team to be added to main project timing.
  • To ensure Project Parts tracker is up to date and keep the team on time for delivery to meet NPIP timing.
  • Produce detailed design layouts, CAD models and design drawings using the JCB CAD system then structure / release to production using PLM.
  • Approve ePI release, ensure technical drawings have correct information to control any deviations of the system
  • Resolve engineering issues using structured problemsolving methodologies
  • Work with suppliers to deliver prototype and PPAP parts to schedule, meeting quality and performance requirements
