Do you want to join us in helping to fight the worlds most threatening diseases and enabling access to care for more people around the world? At Siemens Healthineers, we pioneer breakthroughs in healthcare. For everyone. Everywhere.

We offer you a flexible and dynamic environment with opportunities to go beyond your comfort zone in order to grow personally and professionally. Sound interesting? Then come and join our team as a Senior Commercial Lawyer.

This is a fixed term maternity cover contract for 9 months starting in October 2022.

We are looking to hire a senior commercial lawyer with significant PQE to join the legal team based at Siemens UK head office in Camberley, Surrey (which has good train links to London) with flexibility for remote working (with a minimum of 4 days remote working a week).

You will have a good background in commercial law gained from either private practice or in-house. Previous experience of contracts in healthcare projects and/or outsourcing would be helpful but is not a pre-requisite.

This opportunity will provide an astute commercial lawyer with a broad role to challenge their business acumen, whilst working for a leading global brand in a supportive and collaborative environment.

You will support a diverse and significant business and your workload is likely to be varied, and will include drafting and negotiating outsourcing agreements, supply contracts, distribution agreements, head of terms and advising on procurement and competition topics. Additionally, experience in company secretarial work and knowledge and experience of corporate work such as share and asset sale agreements.

At full strength, the Healthcare legal team will comprise (including this role) five lawyers and three legal contract managers.

You Will Be Responsible For
  • Demonstrating a willingness to develop an in-depth understanding of the business undertaken by Siemens Healthineers and the key drivers of all stakeholders in bid submissions and contracts.
  • Analysing and commenting on invitations to tenders and reviewing a wide range of commercial agreements.
  • Advising on high value and complex outsourcing contracts.
  • Drafting, negotiating and advising on a range of commercial agreements, including framework agreements, supply of goods and services agreements and back-to-back supplier agreements.
  • To advise on company secretarial and corporate law matters would be a bonus but not a pre-requisite for this role.
Required skills to have for the success of this role
  • English qualified commercial lawyer with significant post qualification experience.
  • Previous experience of contracts in the Healthcare Sector or outsourcing experience would be helpful but is by no mean a pre-requisite.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of English law, including contract law and or corporate law, and the practical aspects of contract negotiation.
  • Strong communication skills; a highly motivated team player; analytical, professional and proactive.
  • Ability to deal confidently and build strong relationships with all levels of the organisation, as a business partner.
  • Excellent academic record.
