The Chief Technology Office (CTO) provides solutions to guide technology across the firm globally, removing inefficiencies and streamlining how we deliver quality solutions. We’re continuing to evolve from building next-gen platforms to guiding architectures that unlock their capabilities, automating how we take code from inception to production. We’re focused on optimizing how apps are designed for the future, targeting solutions that are portable across multi-cloud platforms to stay resilient, scalable and maintainable. Integral to the CTO organization, the GetFit product helps drive modernization across the firm and technology groups and provides the data and metrics for technologists to improve their speed, quality and application development practices.

The successful candidate will be a passionate results oriented technologist with a drive to provide a first class customer experience. You will be an experienced software engineer with a track record in delivering complex software solutions within a large scale organization and will demonstrate detailed knowledge of software engineering metrics and development best practices.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be a member of an agile team responsible for the development and support of our GetFit products. They will be responsible for supporting reference data capture, metric calculations and expose the resulting measures to consumers through front-end web applications. They will leverage their technical leadership and ability to collaborate across high performing teams, in order to deliver practical solutions with business value aligned to our target state technology stack. The successful candidate will foster an inclusive and collaborative engineering culture founded on continuous learning and encourage a continuous improvement mind-set within the team.

Essentials
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computing Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
  • Experience in Java & Spring Boot programming.
  • Experience in front end Angular and React with Java Services.
  • Experience of relational databases, preferable Oracle.
  • Experience in developing high resilient cloud based services.
  • An understanding of good coding practices, proper code structure, configuration management and code refactoring.
  • Experience in modern software development processes including:
    • Agile Delivery
    • Continuous Integration / Continuous Development Practices
    • Test Driven Development knowledge with practical experience in utilizing unit and automated functional / non-functional testing.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and converse with technologist, product leads, and our business partners using a variety of communication strategies.
