The Regulated Services Programme (RSP) has secured significant funding to deliver digital services and platforms that will transform how the Environment Agency regulates. This ambitious programme is looking for someone with energy and passion to help drive this change.

This role will lead on production and delivery of an effective engagement and communications strategy and training strategy for the programme. These will help to embed business and cultural change arising from the delivery of our new digital services and platforms, which is fundamental in transforming how the Environment Agency will regulate in the future.

You will be:

  • Implementing the programme communication, engagement and training strategy.
  • Working across the programme to ensure stakeholders and the EA communities are engaged in digital.  
  • Implementing a consistent approach for communications and training across the programme and for each work-stream.
  • Establishing and managing a variety of communication channels to engage internal and external audiences.
  • Working closely with the Programme Business Change Manager in the design, development and management of communication assets to ensure smooth delivery of online services and digital platforms.
  • Engaging with 3rd party suppliers to help develop and implement programme communications and training materials.
  • Translating complex information into simplified messaging and material
The team 1

The Digital, Innovation and Programmes team are responsible for the Digital Strategy and oversee its implementation across E&B. Our work sets the strategic direction for the delivery of regulatory digital services.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team, alongside Project Managers, Service Designers, business analysts etc to embed world-class, user-centred services that help the government transform the way it delivers services so that they are more efficient, simpler, faster and easier to use.

Experience/skills Required 1

We are looking for an individual who has a passion for communications and training, as well as understanding how technology can benefit our teams and transform how we regulate. It is crucial in this role that you are able to simplify complex and technical messaging to ensure buy-in, as well as making sure that this is conveyed in training materials. It is important that you are able to work collaboratively as a part of a team, possess a ‘can-do’ attitude, enjoy working in ambiguity and a desire to challenge the status-quo.

The right person will have a demonstrable passion for quality communications, engagement and training, ideally with experience of:

  • Leading on programme or project-level communications and training.
  • Delivering an effective communications and training strategy and plan.
  • Managing internal communications channels.
  • Experience of communicating, engaging and collaborating with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
