Senior Automotive Systems Engineer – ADAS Coventry, UK £40-50k With at least 4-5 years of experience within systems engineering this could be a great opportunity to join an expanding and successful automotive engineering consultancy in the Midlands.

  • Experience of developing test and validation processes and plans The company is involved with managing and delivering complex engineering projects for automotive OEMs and requires an automotive engineer to help deliver ADAS systems to clients.
The role will involve the design and development of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for clients and will require working directly at customer locations.

You will act as an extension of the customer’s systems engineering team and will be required to understand, interpret and develop new ADAS vehicle features into functional requirements and technical specifications.

An appreciation and direct experience of working on ADAS or other vehicle systems and networks would be required (e.g.

infotainment, hybrid / electric vehicle systems, etc) The position would suit a proven engineer with good systems engineering ability (i.e.

understanding of mechanical, electrical and software systems) coupled with good communication skills and a proactive attitude.

Skills / Knowledge Required
  • A good degree or higher degree or postdoc qualification in a relevant subject (e.g.
computer science, electronics engineering, automotive engineering or physics)
  • At least 4-5 years of industry experience working as a systems engineer or in a design / development capacity having gained experience of capturing high level requirements and concepts and production technical specifications
  • Experience of working on automotive vehicle systems projects (passenger car, commercial vehicle or even off-highway systems) as part of a product development or systems engineering team
  • An appreciation of electrical / electronic systems and software would be required
  • Understanding of integration, test and validation may also prove useful Others (beneficial):
  • Knowledge of CAN and appropriate network analysis tools (e.g.
CANalyzer)
  • Knowledge of Matlab / Simulink and Hil / Sil would be useful
  • Knowledge of safety critical control or ADAS systems would be useful (e.g.
electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and traction control; also automotive imaging, LiDAR, radar, image processing, computer vision systems.)
  • Any experience of connected car applications and V2V communications may prove useful
