Contract Project Engineer - Electrical Systems

Staffordshire

Up to £45/hr (Inside IR35)

You are a skilled Project or Systems Engineer and would like to work on the design and development of a machine conversion from diesel to fully electric
You will have ownership and responsibility for leading and driving the project including the design, development, integration, test and sign-off of all new machine components - battery, motors and power electronics
You will work with electrical; software and systems engineering colleagues and key external suppliers to specify components, define software and electrical requirements and deliver test programmes in line with agreed project timescales.

Necessary skills: Project Engineer

Degree level qualification or similar in electronic/electrical/software engineering or similar
Proven knowledge in safety critical applications - Heavy machinery, Aerospace, Automotive, Oil & Gas (dynamic systems), Rolling stock
A comprehensive understanding of control system logic and development, Low voltage electrical systems, power electronics or vehicle network systems - J1939
Proven skills in leading projects, working with suppliers and coordinating tests internally or externally
Excellent attention to detail to manage all internal and external documentation to ensure smooth and compliant delivery
Strong communication skills and be comfortable working independently and as a member of a team
A positive ‘can-do’ attitude and excellent communications skills to support external suppliers and internal teams

The company is offering 6 month rolling contract with the opportunity to take a permanent role if you are interested
