About Us

This post is in the Neighbourhood Services Finance Team within the Support Section for the Environment and Housing Directorate. The main purpose of the post is to provide a professional accountancy service to the Directorate

About The Role

Pay Details: Grade 5, SCP 8 to 12 £22,777 to £24,496. Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 hours per week Monday to Friday Main Place of Work: Alps Depot Description:
  • Assist with preparation of financial monitoring for Neighbourhood Services.
  • Assist with estimate preparation and closure of accounts.
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of income claims.
  • Responsible for recharging out vehicle and fuel costs and providing reports for managers.
  • Responsible for the reclaiming of costs for damage caused to council assets.
  • Assisting with the preparation of costing of agency invoices.
  • Assisting with the administration of car park fines and counting of car park income.
  • Responsible for the authorising of invoice batches and raising of orders.
  • To assist with the payment of invoices and raising of debtor bills.
  • To assist in the accurate and timely banking of cash and cheques received by the Neighbourhood Services department

About You

You will need:
  • Previous experience of working in a finance/accountancy section
  • Good understanding of service accounting issues
  • Highly numerate with good financial background
  • Ability to prioritise work and pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to work and contribute effectively as part of a small team.
  • 5 GCSE’s (grades A to C) including Mathematics and English.
  • Studying towards AAT or other equivalent financial/business qualification.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Able to liaise with departmental staff in producing required information on time.
  • Good IT background especially Microsoft Office. Additional information
