Security Officer

A leading manufacturer based in the Jewellery Quarter are looking for an experienced security officer to join their well-established team. You will be responsible for front of house, site opening and closing, monitoring CCTV systems and search procedures. Paying an attractive salary of £21,500 per annum rising to £22,500 after probation the position autonomy in a trusted position.

Reporting to the security manager your duties will include:

" Courteous and friendly in your approach to all persons whilst controlling access to the Birmingham site, ensuring all visitors and deliveries are co-ordinated correctly. Answer all incoming telephone calls.
" Visitors and contractor’s details are correctly recorded, badges are issued and the individual is promptly passed to their host.
" Trade deliveries are checked before allowing access to the site.
" The airlocks are correctly controlled to maintain the security of the site
" All telephone calls are answered and if necessary re-directed to the appropriate recipient within a timely manner.
" Access to the underground garage is restricted to authorised members of staff and authorised visitors.
" No unauthorised vehicles are allowed to park on the rear car park.
" The premises are open and ready for employees to commence work at 6.30am.
" Premises are locked and alarmed in accordance with the security procedures.
" Alarm systems are activated and deactivated as appropriate and the involvement of the third party monitoring agency is in line with our service level agreement.
" Any faults in the alarm system or damage caused to any wiring or detector is reported as immediately to line management so that an engineer can be called.
" Appropriate search methods x-ray equipment, archway and handheld scanner are used to search ALL personnel: employees, visitors and contactors, inclusive of: bags, briefcases, tools, containers and vehicles.
" The search techniques are carried out in a professional manner and are seen as deterrent.
" Any faults occurring in any of the search equipment are reported immediately and rectified as soon as possible.
" All searches are recorded on CCTV.
" CCTV monitors are regularly checked to assess activity on the site perimeter, at the trade counters and within the factory area.
" Garage, vehicle airlock and pedestrian entrance monitors are continually checked to identify vehicles and persons requiring access to the site.
" Any problems are reported immediately to line management.

The security officer will work Monday to Friday on a weekly rotating shift 06:30am - 14:00pm and 12:00pm - 20:00pm.

The security officer must be able to drive and a clean enhanced DBS will be required (paid for by the company) if successful.
