SHE Manager - Bioquell

Bioquell, part of Ecolab, are looking to recruit experienced SHE Manager. The individual should be driven, motivated and passionate about change. Goal orientated, can do attitude will enable the individual to work at all levels of the business to significant impact and improve both the culture and the processes involved in Safety, Health and Environment.

The individual will have the unique opportunity to show their knowledge and skills in the introduction of ISO 14001 and 45001. The individual will report into the Plant manager who will guide and support them using established leadership principles, he will grow and progress you through succession planning. The experience and knowledge of the individual will enable them to work well as part of the leadership team but also draw on their knowledge and experience to introduce you processes and techniques. He/she will come from a TPM and HPO environment where CAPA, Root cause analysis and continuous improvement was focused on heavily. This is a key role for influencing and taking charge, as well as decision making at the highest level. Responsibilities
  • Leads / manages SHE programs, compliance and results for a smaller business, facility or geography.
  • May also manage Center of Excellence programs or processes (i.e., such as personnel safety, industrial hygiene, environmental safety, compliance).
  • Works with leaders to identify SHE priorities and programs for the area managed, including performance metrics, communication and change management.
  • Implements corporate, regional or divisional policies and programs.
  • Gives feedback with regards to changes needed for local compliance, communication or business relevance.
  • Develops location or business group specific programs to address local needs.
  • Ensures that required monitoring of operations or industrial exposures is in place. Provides technical leadership and functional guidance for health standards promulgated by regulatory authorities.
  • Coordinates ECAP and other audits of area managed; works with leadership to ensure findings are addressed.
  • Keeps informed on all existing and proposed changes in occupational health and safety regulations and ensures compliance in areas managed.
  • Provides local regulatory reporting if required. Ensures that leading and lagging SHE metrics are collected.
  • Reviews metrics, trends and actions with Leadership team supported
  • Provide competent and technical health, safety and environmental advice (SHE) and guidance to business management working in partnership with assurance managers;
  • Play an active role in the culture development towards SHE and ‘think safety first’;
  • Carry out and provide assistance to management in the investigation of incidents, hazards or occupational ill health, as appropriate to business needs and commensurate with potential outcome;

Essential Skills
  • Degree in occupational safety, environmental,
  • health, or a related field with 8 or more years experience in field of business.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop and implement programs and processes.
  • English proficiency
  • NEBOSH/IOSH, qualified.
  • Must have a working knowledge of OHSAS 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems and have the ability to introduce them within our business.
  • Professional Membership to IOSH or IIRSM (or working towards)
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, energetic and enthusiastic.
  • IT literate.
  • Self-reliant, dependable, reliable, resourceful and conscientious.
  • The ability to promote and deliver a culture of health and Safety.
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • The ability to think creatively and exercise sound judgement in advising on mitigation of risks.
  • Personal attributes must include our core characteristics 5E listed above.
  • Maintain and promote compliance to all SH&E legislation.

Independence level/Reports to :Reports functionally to a higher level Manager or Director SHE. May report into a geographic or division leader as well. Works independently and may have direct reports. Accountable for SHE compliance, projects and results in area supported. Budget responsibility.
