The RoleAs a Risk Business Partner, You Will Have ToThe BusinessHybrid Working - Flexible Hours - Business at the Forefront of Renewable Energy SectorDo you have experienced in risk management and are you looking for a new challenge. Nigel Wright are delighted to be working with a firm based in Redcar, looking to hire a Risk Business Partner to their growing risk team.
  • Demonstrate the appropriate behaviours and commitment towards health and safety.
  • Demonstrate professional scepticism, think laterally and creatively to overcome obstacles and problem solve, and have a good awareness of how risks and issues can impact differently across multiple functions.
  • Provide advice and guidance on risk identification and control creation, processes and systems in support of their accountability for risk management ensuring risks are managed within the group risk appetite to key SCUUK stakeholders.
  • Support regular Control performance reporting to Group.
  • Provide guidance, support and direction to the UK business on effectively managing their `risks and demonstrating that the appropriate control environment is in place. Challenge inadequate controls and influence stakeholders to continuously improve measures taken.
  • Ensure that Risk and Control performance reporting (to SLC and Management) is clear, timely and effective, with breaches to KPI highlighted.
  • Have oversight and governance of the master Risk and Control register, and sub departmental registers.
  • Develop and manage processes to ensure that the risk register is kept up to date with changing circumstances and as new risks are identified to ensure that the risk register reflects the current situation,
  • Support assessment of controls and mitigation actions including executing a proportionate test programme for the control environment as part of the Management Control Assessment (MCA).
  • Monitor implementation of action plans to ensure risk mitigation efforts are proceeding as required.
  • Prepare and maintain internal risk process documentation ensuring risk practices are aligned to relevant UK and Group standards.

The Requirements and ProcessTo qualify for this role as a Risk Business Partner, you should:
  • Have experience of Enterprise Risk Management with ability to support and advise on effective risk management.
  • Be able to demonstrable ability to influence stakeholders (at varying levels) to drive effective risk management within the organisation.
  • Have an awareness of external and internal risk factors to energy industry.
  • Be a collaborative team player able to work across disciplines ensuring collective accountability and individual responsibility.
  • Be a confident communicator able to liaise with managers, team members and other departments.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, multitasking and reprioritising to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Degree or equivalent industry qualification (STEM preferred).
  • Professional accreditation in Risk Management (desirable).
  • Experience in Risk Management in similar industry/sector (desirable).
