University of the West of Scotland (UWS) have an exciting opportunity for Research Support Co-ordinator to join their team, to work in an innovative, modern University, with 4 vibrant campuses across the West of Scotland as well as a campus in Central London. This post will support an established and welcoming team with an exciting vision for the future.


This role will support the Library Research Support team with the efficient and effective operation and development of administrative processes related to research output. You will provide specialist support for efficient processing and copyright checking of doctoral theses, and carry out administrative processes related to open access publishing, taking responsibility for the accurate processing of complex data. You will be expected to develop specialist knowledge of related processes and guidance documentation, providing timely and specialist support and advice to library and research staff and individual researchers as required.


You should have proven experience in a similar role, working within a library or information environment and be able to evidence successes in;


  • Supporting and contributing to the maintenance of data integrity in Library technical systems, library and research related university-wide and external systems by contributing to the development of policies, procedures and service enhancements
  • Contributing to systematic reviewing of resources and information including supporting the development of research data storage systems and processes
  • Contributing to enriched and relevant reporting and analysis of Library or Information Services by systematically collecting and collating accurate statistical data
  • Contributing to the effective and knowledge-driven delivery of Library technical services by developing and delivering targeted training to support staff involved in acquisitions, resource management, research, technical or frontline support for Library resource

You must be a team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload. Educated to HND level (or equivalent), with drive, enthusiasm and tenacity you will be accustomed to operating within busy environment. To succeed in this role, you’ll have the following attributes:
