Job description

Fixed Term for 2 years, 29.6 hours per week

The University of Huddersfield has identified nine Areas of Strategic Research Interest (ASRIs), one of which is in the area of Sustainable Environment. A new Research Centre in Sustainable Living is planned, and this post will contribute to research in that field.

The advertised position is for a Research Fellow (0.8 fte) in Sustainable Environment. The post holder will form part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, which focuses on innovative contemporary practice and research including architecture, built environment, heritage, tourism, transport and low carbon approaches. Knowledge of contemporary cutting-edge practices combined with an enthusiasm to work across disciplines are important attributes for the post.

You should hold a doctoral level qualification in an appropriate associated discipline and have appropriate experience of research techniques and be able to evidence production/publishing of high-quality research outputs. Detailed knowledge and understanding of at least one sustainable environment related area and of associated research techniques are essential. Successful candidates will be expected to play a significant role in the development of the planned Sustainable Living Research Centre and also to support and help develop research more generally across the sustainable environment field.

You will be joining a dedicated, passionate and forward-thinking team and will be expected to demonstrate excellence in your work, which will be supported through personal development plans.
