About The Role

Base Location: Flexible UK or Ireland, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, London, Dublin or Belfast

Salary: Up to €82,000/£54,000 depending on skills and experience + car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

About The Role

Key to our growth ambition and net zero commitment, SSE Renewables have an exciting opportunity within our Offshore Design and Delivery team for a Senior Project Engineer to support our engineering activities across several market leading and innovative offshore wind development projects in Ireland.

Key Accountabilities Will Include
  • Owning the role of Senior Engineer under SSE’s project governance framework, managing the project teams delivery against procedures and work instructions, such that the project achieves success with its choice of technology and design solution.
  • Challenging the status quo to create new opportunities for value to be added.
  • Ensuring the Technical and Design Authorities are engaged and Design Assurance activities completed to meet project timelines.
  • Co-ordinating progress updates, accounting for decisions reached and plans implemented.
  • Implementing interface management between the project team and stakeholders.
What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would be looking for you to have:
  • A degree qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent experience in a similar role with a passion for renewable energy and knowledge of relevant governances.
  • A can-do proactive attitude with a proven history of interfacing and collaborating across multi-discipline teams to support decision making process and achieve outcomes
  • Demonstrable understanding of engineering processes and experience of bringing a multi-disciplinary team (Engineering Packages) together with a common purpose
  • Demonstrable experience of integrating complex systems with multiple stakeholders, 3rd party contractors and external bodies
  • The ability to manage identification of project risks and mitigation whilst challenging the status quo and strive for continuous improvement
