We have an exciting opportunity for a Nurse – Healthcare Operations Centre to join and be part of our Health Services Team within the Maritime function on a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract.
The Role
In this role you will be responsible for supporting the central Miami-based 24/7 global Health Operations Centre (HOC), and work under the direction of the regional doctor and/or HOC Manager, providing operational support for the Carnival Corporation’s fleets sailing within their geographic catchment area. You will monitor and report fleet health operational incidents, respond to shipboard medical team enquiries, and assist with medevacs, COVID-19 responses, mass casualty incidents and public health events. You will also be responsible for escalating events of concern or complexity to the regional doctor and/or central HOC. In addition you will track and report events in a timely manner to regional stakeholders and the Miami HOC.
As the HOC Regional Nurse you will build relationships with key local and regional stakeholders and participate in identifying public health and medical options and requirements for each port in the catchment area, including medical evacuation, laboratory testing and medical treatment capabilities. You will be required to report events to the regional doctor and/or to the global HOC as necessary and coordinate closely with Operating Line stakeholders and regional Fleet Operations Center (FOC) to advance the goals of the Corporation.
In addition you will work collaboratively and support the global HOC and FOC with fleet emergency response incidents as needed.
About You
To be successful in this role you will need to have post graduate clinical experience in paramedicine, emergency medicine or other acute care settings including remote medicine.
You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills, a high degree of self-motivation, independence, tenacity, and drive. Strong communication skills in a wide array of situations with medical, and non-medical stakeholders is essential for this role.
In addition you will hold a relevant RN or BSN qualification or equivalent.
