The Advisor role is key within the Recruitment team; you’ll develop your people management skills supporting our Recruitment and Retention Administrators and use your knowledge of Trac (online recruitment system) and our processes to support our service delivery across the Trust.

We are a busy team and we continue to manage high levels of recruitment to support workforce needs across the Trust. Our focus is to deliver a great customer experience and to develop our attraction strategies to support all of our teams and make a difference to the GHC service delivery.

In addition to providing support to our International Recruitment processes, you’ll manage a small caseload and will work with the Senior Recruitment team delivering a variety initiatives and projects to build our candidate pipeline; including recruitment events and incentive schemes.

To supervise and assist in running a customer focussed central recruitment and selection service for the Trust, dealing professionally and using tact and diplomacy with recruiting managers on recruitment and general HR queries (telephone/email/letter) including terms and conditions of employment and Trust policies and procedures. More complex calls and queries from other members of the team will be referred to the post holder.

Use judgement to ensure workload on a daily basis is prioritised and urgent issues are dealt with promptly with support of the Recruitment and Retention Leads.

To ensure that contracts for all new staff and amendments to contracts for existing staff are produced accurately and are issued in a timely manner.

To be familiar with Home Office rules regarding work permits ensuring all applicants put forward for shortlisting meet the necessary Home Office criteria and to be able to research complex issues referring to Recruitment and Retention Lead where necessary.

On occasions, carry a smaller case load of new recruits and to be responsible for the efficient processing of clearances for new staff including Disclosure and Barring Service checks. This will include direct meeting with candidates, making sure that forms are completed correctly, satisfactory references are received and Occupational Health clearance is sought and obtained before employment

To run regular work allocation meetings, allocating work to team members on a day to day basis and putting together the weekly work roster, including allowing for annual leave, part time working etc.

To act as an example to the Band 3 team members in relation to the application of Trust recruitment policies and procedures and to work to the NHS Employment Check Standards.

To design and implement individual training plans for all team members to ensure that knowledge, skills and experience are developed throughout the team. This will include training on specialist knowledge around term time only contracts, annualised hours etc as well as the specialist HR/Recruitment systems necessary for the role
