At Auckland Transport, we’re responsible for providing a seamless, integrated public transport network and, as demand continues to grow on the Auckland rail network, the Public Transport Development Group and its Infrastructure Development team are working alongside our delivery partners like Kiwirail to build a railway fit for the future.

We’re seeking Rail Projects Development Managers to support future rail development programmes and lead the delivery of a portfolio of exciting projects within an established development and delivery team. Key to this will supporting stakeholder and sponsor requirements, liaising with other aligned projects and manage overlapping requirements. These roles (2) will support the development and lead the delivery and integration of transformational rail projects on behalf of Auckland Transport to deliver a railway that is safe, reliable and supports a great customer experience.

Key Tasks And Responsibilities Include
  • Manage the delivery and integration of rail infrastructure projects.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to ensure wider transport network programmes are optimised during construction and operations
  • Manage stakeholder support and resources for involvement in the delivery and integration of future rail programme infrastructure.
  • Develop agreed project delivery plans for key projects within the Infrastructure Development programme in compliance with company processes and procedures.
What are we looking for?
  • Senior levels of experience in the transport industry working on major programme delivery
  • Experience in the development, delivery, and management of large programs delivering change ideally within the rail environment
  • Focused, driven, and passionate about the delivery of work in the rail corridor and rail stations.
  • Knowledge of project management standards.
  • Excellent project and contract management experience
  • Extensive experience in planning and delivery of transport/infrastructure projects
  • A solid understanding and appreciation of the workings and functions of local government, including current and future business drivers and statutory requirements
