We are now looking for an experienced Quality Manager to join our team at our Sheffield Site and be A key member of the Sheffield Leadership Team and the European Quality Leadership Team.

This role aims to minimise the total cost of quality and ensuring 100% compliance to standards as well as d rive and lead the implementation of strategic Quality improvement plans and objectives across the Sheffield site.

As Quality Manager, you’ll provide advice, guidance, and support to the site teams to ensure compliance with company management standards and legislative requirements.

You’ll set the standards for Quality led operational activities, lead Quality activities towards world-class performance; make continuous improvement standard practice. Educate, develop, and inspire team members towards betterment and achievement.

Your Responsibilities
  • Be accountable for the Quality Planning, Control & Assurance aspects site wide.
  • Accountable for the quality management system and compliance with third party company accreditations where appropriate, such as but not limited to ISO9001., Certisecure (Firedoors)
  • Ensure Customer requirements are identified, implemented and controlled throughout and included in all applicable quality related documents.
  • Identify incoming requirements for supplied materials and non-conformances arising managed back into the supply chain to prevent reoccurrence where appropriate.
  • Ensure effective distribution of quality resources across the sites to meet business demands
  • Conduct Performance management and upskilling the quality team to ensure business, customer and the role of the quality function is met.
  • Planning, implementation, coordination and reporting of audit programmes to significantly reduce quality failures relating to scrap & warranty by ensuring compliance to procedures, quality standards and SOPs across the operational processes.
  • Creating and delivering quality training to new & current employees within operational areas in terms of quality system, product and/or customer requirements, as well as the use of measuring equipment.
  • Be accountable for ensuring New Product Development & Introduction of new products meet customer and internal quality standards and/or requirements as a minimum.
  • Accountable for reporting monthly on scrap and warranty related aspects, as part of the Operations Site Monthly Report, including actions and/or initiatives to improve where required on failures against current KPI’s.
  • Responsible for supporting product, process & new material improvement trials to ensure customer and internal quality standards and/or requirements are met as a minimum.
  • Supporting operational areas in identifying product non-conformance including the implementation of an effective process, controls & problem-solving tools.
  • Responsible for providing up to date advice and guidance to the management team on compliance, best practice, strategy implementation and industry standards as well as overseeing, assisting and support the operational areas with quality initiatives and reporting
  • Lead contact for liaison and interaction with third party auditors and/or regulatory bodies, our customers in area of responsibility relating to Quality NPI, product queries and non-conformance.
  • Support leadership wide initiatives and cascade into areas of accountability to ensure full engagement across the team.
  • Attend and facilitate quality meetings at a UK or EU level
  • As a member of the senior leadership team, you will be involved in cross functional projects
Your Skills And Experiences
  • Quality Management Experience is essential and ideally gained within a high volume manufacturing/[processing environment.
  • Educated to degree level of equivalent preferred but not essential.
  • Qualifications and working experience of management systems including ISO9001.
  • Possess a good understanding of using Quality and Process management tools and methodology.
  • Fully computer literate with strong IT skills for report writing, analyses of data statistics.
  • Experience of working with a SQDCIP (or equivalent) production management system is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience/involvement in New Product Introduction.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Experience/involvement in Process Change Management.
  • Excellent IT skills for report writing, analyses of data statistics and development of new and refresher training packages.
  • Experience/involvement in Internal Auditing.
