We’re looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Sheffield to set the standards for engineering operational activities across the site.

You’ll drive Engineering activities towards world-class performance; make continuous improvement standard practice.

You will also educate, develop and inspire team members towards betterment and achievement. Support to the site teams to ensure compliance with company legislative requirements.

Your Responsibilities
  • Keep machinery in production
  • Drive departments 5s campaigns and demonstrate 5s expansion as part of daily cadence
  • Promotes self-improvement
  • Received and issues permits to work and ensure engineering work is carried out to H&S, environmental and engineering standards
  • Ensure Maintenance systems are fully utilised to optimise performance
  • Support with the training and coaching with the apprentices
  • Implementation of Risk Assessments and support of HASSARD assessment
  • Work to daily Standard Operating Procedures
  • Establish improvement as a way of life
  • Leverage best practice
  • Encourage knowledge sharing across the site to accelerate improvements and benefits
  • Supports Plant Managers and Leadership team to develop and deliver an engineering continuous improvement culture
Your Skills And Experiences
  • Practical experience of PLC fault finding
  • Strong fault diagnosis and ratification skills on electrical, mechanical, systems
  • Good knowledge of PPM and continuous improvement systems
  • IT Skills
  • LEAN techniques
  • Experience of a fast-moving environment in Manufacturing (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential
  • Essential Electrical Apprenticeship
  • Essential 17 Edition qualification
This position works on a three shift rotation basis and candidates must be willing and able to commit to any of the shift patterns operated on site.
