We’re looking for an experienced QC Technician to join our Quality team at our Eco-Factory in Dorset. This person will work to protect the Neal’s Yard Remedies (NYR) brand and prevent delays in production by checking incoming raw materials and manufactured bulk products to ensure compliance with quality specifications, and for referring issues to the appropriate people for decision.
Responsibilities:
QC:
- Sampling and testing of incoming raw materials to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
- Sampling and testing of manufactured bulk products to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
- Escalating issues as appropriate.
- Advising manufacturing on corrections within allowable limits set by Formulation.
- QC of raw materials to be sent out to subcontractors.
- Ensuring all samples are tested within appropriate timescales.
- Cleaning lab work areas.
- Calibration of laboratory equipment prior to use.
Administration:
- Assisting with maintenance of QC records (paper and electronic) including spreadsheets and databases.
- Maintaining laboratory stocks of consumables.
- Logging and filing retained samples.
- Daily checks on weighing and other equipment in the lab and factory.
- Preparing certificates of conformity for materials sent out to subcontractors
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with internal quality system requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all externally audited systems including ISO 22716, MHRA, FDA, GMP and HACCP.
- Assist Head of Quality with audits from external bodies and feedback reports relating to those audits.
- Assist Head of Quality with corrective and preventative action plans
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Able to demonstrate excellent organisational and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills and written/spoken English
- Confidence to work under own initiative, yet take direction well
- Able to plan and manage own time effectively
Preferable:
- Experience with Sage 1000
- Experience within cosmetic, pharma or food/drink FMCG industry
