Who We Are

IDS is a leading in-vitro diagnostic solution provider to the clinical laboratory market. We develop, manufacture and market innovative immunoassays and automated immunoanalyser technologies to provide improved diagnostic outcomes for patients.

IDS Boldon is the global IDS Headquarters occupying a single, multi-disciplined site.

The site focuses on the manufacture and distribution of manual Immunoassay products. On site Purchasing, Logistics, Production, Quality Control and Process Development departments manage the supply chain, supported by local Sales Support, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs and Finance departments. As Group Headquarters, IDS Boldon also houses all head office functions.

Job Purpose

To inspect, test and report data relating to raw material, immunoassay components and immunoassay kits for release to internal and external customers.

Principal Accountabilities

• Take care of own health and safety and other persons who may be affected by your actions or omissions

• To comply with cGMP, site procedures and QMS

• QC analysis of immunoassay components and kits through to write up with completion of the assay log

• QC analysis of raw materials (external and internal)

• Supporting stability studies on immunoassay components and kits

• Monitoring, calibrating and testing laboratory equipment. Perform routine lab setup and shutdown.

• Support GDP activities such as NCR investigations and OOS

• Ensure training records are kept up to date

• Maintaining calibration records for laboratory equipment ensuring routine maintenance and calibration is performed

• Deputise for the senior analyst where applicable

• Perform data checking in accordance with site procedures

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) in a Biological /Biomedical / Biochemistry related subject

• OR experience in immunoassay performance

Skills & Knowledge

• Competency in immunoassays

• Good communication skills

• Ability to work as part of a team intra- and inter-departmentally

• Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines

• Ability to work unsupervised.

• Flexible

• Competency working with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)

• Good working knowledge of IDS products (desirable, not essential)

• Knowledge of Quality Control and statistical techniques

• Knowledge of Quality Systems and their operation

• Good organisation and time management

Experience

• At least 2 years laboratory experience preferred.

• Experience in performing immunoassays preferred.

• Previous experience in a cGMP environment preferred.
