IDS is a leading in-vitro diagnostic solution provider to the clinical laboratory market. We develop, manufacture and market innovative immunoassays and automated immunoanalyser technologies to provide improved diagnostic outcomes for patients.
IDS Boldon is the global IDS Headquarters occupying a single, multi-disciplined site.
The site focuses on the manufacture and distribution of manual Immunoassay products. On site Purchasing, Logistics, Production, Quality Control and Process Development departments manage the supply chain, supported by local Sales Support, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs and Finance departments. As Group Headquarters, IDS Boldon also houses all head office functions.
Job Purpose
To perform daily tasks and projects to contribute to the running of the Procurement function at the Boldon site. To engage with internal customers and external suppliers in dealing with requests and issues.
Principal Accountabilities
- Placement of purchase orders for stock and non-stock items
- Database maintenance including but not limited to - lead-times, pricing, MOQs, supplier part numbers.
- Expedite order acknowledgements and ensure the ERP system reflects confirmed delivery dates, highlighting any potential concerns in a timely manner to the appropriate parties. Be proactive in overcoming supply issues.
- Amend purchase orders as required and ensure all relevant departments are updated with changes
- Manage low value contracts such as services and maintenance e.g. Lab coats, calibration etc.
- Organising site services and departmental maintenance requirements
- Managing supply issues prior to escalation to the Purchasing Manager
- General administrative support to members of the Purchasing Department
- Any other duties deemed necessary.
Quality
- Maintain up to date information on suppliers such as ISO Certs, FDD.
- To report complaints to suppliers, investigating root cause and action via the Events log
Projects
- To be involved in projects as directed by the Procurement Manager
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Experience of working with Syteline or similar ERP system not essential but preferable.
- Strong IT skills, and confidence in working with, MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook is imperative.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Methodical, detail lead focus on workload/tasks is of the upmost importance.
- Previous experience of working within a purchasing or administrative department / function.
- Good communication skills.
