OverviewWaters Corporation is seeking a Purchasing Managerwith strong commercial accumen; t o support and direct a team whose focus is the procurement of materials to support the Spares, Production, New Product Design and Non inventory spend in line with MRP or Purchase requisition demand. The Purchasing Manager will oversee the business relationships with suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and manage any identified business risk. Cost saving initiatives and improvement projects (productivity, quality) in support of the annual operating plan form part of the role. The position will be based at our Wilmslow site.ResponsibilitiesPurchasing
  • To ensure that the Supply Chain functions are operationally excellent - productive and efficient by setting goals and measures.
  • Reviewing and enhancing the skill sets and the training requirements of the team to keep up to date with current and future business requirements
  • Ensure procurement activities are managed & executed to meet agreed build plans / APO and to best in class practices.
  • Co-ordination and management of Mass Spec supplier issues for Wexford & Wilmslow
  • Management of constraints / issues within the supply chain for Wexford & Wilmslow
  • Evaluate, audit and manage suppliers to ensure compliance to business goals, mitigate risk and timely constraint resolution
  • Execution of Tactical Business reviews within the Supply Chain
  • Provide support and guidance to Senior Buyers & Buyers
  • Ensure purchasing team are managing on time purchase order delivery
New Product Introductions
  • Oversee the transfer of new product from NPI buyers into UK50 organisation.
  • Provide Supply Chain support where required to meet NPI launch
Annual Operating Plan (AOP) / Budget Responsibilities
  • Deliver an improvement on financial performance, exceeding our annual operating plan
  • Support the Management of departmental objectives (Spend, PPV, and related discretionary spend) and project specific spend.
  • Identify, manage and drive cost saving for the Wilmslow and Wexford through PPV initiatives
QualificationsEducation:
  • Bachelor of Business Studies, equivalent primary degree or substantial experience in a similar role
  • IIPM Certification and/or APICS Certified
Experience:
  • Extensive experience in an industrial high complexity organisation with a proven track record.
  • Strong SAP expertise preferred
  • Demonstrated experience of negotiation and cost saving projects required.
  • Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience of building a commercially focussed team
Competencies:
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, presentation and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong supply chain experience with problem solving capability.
  • Strong Commercial accumen
  • Self-motivated.
  • Project management skills.
Travel (If Applicable):
  • Some travel to UK sites and Ireland sites.
