About The Role

We have multiple Purchasing Intern roles available, on a 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract, with a mixture of working at our Crewe Campus and from home. Reporting to the Purchasing Management Team the Purchasing Interns will split their time; 80% working within their function, either Commodities, Projects & Systems or General Purchase, and 20% working on strategic projects with the Technical Assistant to the Purchasing Director.

Responsibilities Include
  • To support the Purchasing team in achieving their desired objectives. This may include; sourcing preparation, negotiations with suppliers, data analysis and data processing.
  • Immersion into the Bentley products to support new car concepts with innovative ideas to increase customer offering whilst reducing cost. This is especially important as we turn our focus towards electrification and sustainability.
  • To support the functions within the department to ensure that supply to the production line is not disrupted.
  • Co-ordination of activities for the team in which you will work. This may involve creating meeting agendas and managing meeting invitations.
  • Represent the Purchasing department in various cross-functional reviews.
  • Involvement in key functional strategic projects with the aim to improve operations within the Purchasing department.
  • Some travel may be required in order to visit supplier factories and/or meet with counterparts from across different brands within the VW Group.
About The Candidate

We know that everyone and every role is important in our ongoing success. We are looking for an extraordinary person who is studying for or has completed a degree within the last 2 years and are on target to achieve or achieved a 2:1 or above.

We understand that you may have limited work experience but you should have well-developed problem solving and analytical skills, possess good interpersonal skills, initiative and the enthusiasm to achieve. Quality in our business is top priority and we need individuals who can demonstrate a high focus on quality and a right first time attitude.

Skills And Experience Required
  • A good communicator who can build relationships quickly with key stakeholders.
  • A quick learner who is willing to get involved in a number of different projects at any one time.
  • A positive can-do attitude with a good problem-solving ability.
  • Highly organised and self-motivated.
Specific Technical Knowledge Or Qualifications Required
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office Apps (mainly PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Business related degree desirable but not essential.
