Kantar is a global business operating in over 300 locations. Technology has evolved with the business as it has grown organically and through acquisition. This has resulted in a globally distributed technology footprint which is aging, non-standardized and challenging to support. To address this Technology Services is launching a Consolidation programme to drive both standardization and reduction of our on-premise technology and drive migration of workloads into the Cloud.

As the Consolidation programme Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of our proposed hyper-converged infrastructure solution and associated technology that will drive the on-premise standardization, the consolidation of our datacenters into strategic sites, the migration of workloads into them and the migration of workloads into our preferred cloud providers. You will work closely with technical leads within the consolidation team and migration partners to complete, design, discovery and migration planning before leading the migration exercise. This is both an exciting and challenging role which will require excellent project and stakeholder management skills, solid technical knowledge across all infrastructure technologies, experience of cloud migrations and the drive to execute successfully in a complex global organisation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Collaborate with all key parties to ensure standard delivery processes are in place with roles and responsibilities clearly defined through a published RACI. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Define and manage overall project goals and success criteria.
  • Oversee all project deliverables and ensure they follow client methodology and best practices.
  • Provide overall project communication, regular project status updates, and completion reports to the programme and key stakeholders.
  • Identify and track project issues, risks and dependencies.
  • Manage scope and track change requests.
  • Manage end client relationship at the project level.
  • 3rd party Vendor Management.
  • Work with all internal technology teams and external service providers to ensure solutions are standardised and projects are delivered in line with Kantar technology policies and standards.
  • Ensure third party works are clearly scoped developing SoW’s were required and providing oversight and governance to third party spend and performance.
  • Engage with appropriate groups such as Hosting, IDAM, Networks, Cloud Centre of Excellence, Applications and Security to ensure full visibility and awareness of project ensuring all parties are represented with project dependencies, risks and issues formalised.
  • Ensure alignment of proposed solutions with strategic direction and best fit with other relevant business strategies. Work closely with the business, IT Infrastructure, End User Services, Service Management and 3rd Parties to deliver agreed solutions via re-use/integration of existing or provision of new solutions, to time, quality and budget.
  • Key point of contact for stakeholders across business, technology and 3rd parties
  • Produce regular reporting on progress, risks, blockers and required escalations to senior stakeholders.
  • Communicate to all relevant support groups as part of the delivery process such as Service.
  • Demonstrate and promote a forward looking, pro-active and positive attitude, building constructive relationships.

CAPABILITIES

  • Detailed knowledge of infrastructure and cloud technology solutions and how they integrate.
  • Knowledge of and experience of delivering hyper-converged infrastructure solutions globally.
  • Experience of successfully delivering datacenter consolidation and cloud migration projects across a complex global estate involving suppliers and onshore and offshore teams.
  • Fantastic customer facing, rapport building and communication skills, including the ability to evaluate business requirements against technology solutions to drive positive outcomes.
  • The ability to manage projects with multiple work streams.
  • Experience working with and managing 3rd party / outsourced suppliers and the ability to get value from these partnerships.
  • The ability to manage a complex group of stakeholders with different or conflicting needs.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Experience of both agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience working with finance teams and managing budgets.
  • A proactive, positive and diligent approach to problem solving.
  • An understanding of project finances.

TRAINING

  • Essential Project Management Qualification including Prince 2 / PMP or equivalent.
  • Infrastructure governance qualifications such as ITIL or equivalent.
