The Project Manager will lead a portfolio of projects with a global reach from inception through to implementation and early-life support. The candidate will have business transformation and stakeholder management experience in a global environment.

Key tasks:
Start-up, shape, lead and deliver business system projects within the agreed time, budget and quality constraints
Develop project plans with clear milestones that are clearly visible and understandable by key stakeholders
Develop and maintain excellent stakeholder relationships on a global basis and tune into emerging changes within relevant business areas
Network with globally distributed stakeholders to keep business knowledge current and be proactive in suggesting business process improvements
Set up the governance processes for assigned projects
Develop a solid understanding of selected Springer Nature processes, systems and data and their relationship to product strategy and change initiatives, either within or across business divisions, with a view identifying and making recommendations for business process or system improvements that are aligned to changing business needs
Work with external product vendors, implementation partners, and internal technology teams to ensure they deliver robust technical specifications and solutions that meet requirements
Communicate with stakeholders, in an appropriate format, to ensure that they are provided with the required level of information for decision making, kept well informed of project progress and any risks and/or issues
Secure buy-in from business and technology stakeholders and maintain this throughout the project lifecycle, in order to allow projects to initiate and reach successful completion and adoption

Skills/knowledge:
Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at multiple levels
Comprehensive experience leading and delivering business system projects in a global environment
Strong project lifecycle knowledge having delivered multiple projects from start to finish
Strong analytical skills with the ability to capture and document requirements and processes
Clear understanding of agile methodologies and ability/willingness to act in a Scrum Master capacity as required
Ability to create appropriate level project plans to meet the project need
Sound self-organisation and planning skills
Knowledge of organisational change management techniques
Strong written, oral communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Flexible, able to quickly switch gears and ‘keep multiple irons in the fire’
Proactive rather than reactive
Good knowledge of some of SAP ERP, FICO or SD modules or process

Experience:
Minimum of 3 years’ Project delivery experience
Experience of SAP FICO or SD implementations
Experience of managing multiple interconnected projects
Experience of the organisational complexities in a multinational matrix organisation would be useful
Knowledge and experience of the publishing industry and processes would be useful
An understanding of Business Process reengineering would be useful
