As Programming and Partnerships Officer, you’ll be working as part of the Visitor Experience team to achieve our vision for 16- to 25-year-old visitors as part of our Children and Young People Strategy. You can expect to work approximately 1 weekend in 4, delivering a range of activities for Children and Young People. It’s hard work, but a rewarding role and a lot of fun too!

What it’s like to work here:This former cotton mill was built in 1784 and is one of Britain’s greatest industrial heritage sites. The busy estate hosts many schools programmes and events, which help bring Quarry Bank’s fascinating story to life. New areas of the estate will shortly open to the public, creating additional project-based roles. This is an exciting opportunity to work in fast growing location and the team pride themselves on being dynamic, highly motivated and passionate people.

What you’ll be doing:You’ll be responsible for delivering our Children and Young People activity as part of our strategy for this audience. You will lead on working with our Young Engagement Forum (16 – 25 year olds) that creates space for us to collaborate with young people on areas of mutual benefit.

We’re looking for someone with real enthusiasm and demonstrable passion for Children and Young People, but with a thorough understanding of the need to see the bigger picture and work well as part of a team at this complex and fascinating property. The successful candidate should have significant practical experience in developing new audiences and delivering activities, programmes and initiatives for Children and Young People.

You’ll need to demonstrate exceptional people skills with the ability to coach and support teams of staff and volunteers as well as building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Experience of drawing up grant scheme and external funding applications as well as managing budgets would be an advantage.
