What you’ll be doing:It’s an exciting time to join our portfolio team as we continue to look ahead to future projects. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the property to ensure the delivery is smooth operationally, departments feel involved, and objectives are met. Our programming will be focused on the connections we can make with our visitors and how engaged they feel, alongside some occasional commercial events.

You’ll work in collaboration to grow existing partnerships which will help design and support the delivery of activities. This role plays an important part in the work we have been doing, to make sure the places we care for are accessible and welcoming to our varied audiences through interpretation.

With your keen eye for detail, you will lead on elements such as the creation of seasonal trails, developing crafting opportunities, to the visual design and development of signage, with a focus on brand identity.

Being a people person is key to this role, as you’ll manage Craft and Events volunteers and liaise with multiple teams and external partners. Here you’ll be organising, rostering, and inspiring your volunteers to support the deliveries of the visitor experience.

Tasks you may find yourself doing in this role will vary from being out in the woodland putting out the next family trail, communicating with your volunteer teams, to creating new interpretation/information boards and signage.

The majority of the time your working week will be Monday to Friday, with working hours between 8am to 6pm, and on occasion evening and weekend working will be required.
The role is team orientated and based on-site, with the opportunity to work from home on occasion.

Who we’re looking forWe’re looking for a proactive and creative team player who can assist in piecing together all the strands of work: from supporting programming partnerships, designing seasonal trails and activities, and organising and motivating volunteers, to taking the lead in the delivery of signage and interpretation boards. Having a keen eye for detail and ensuring quality presentation standards across the estate is key to this role, whilst reflecting Cliveden’s nature and history at the heart of all events and activities on site.
  • Experience in delivering visitor programmes and/or working with community or commercial partners to deliver events and activities.

  • An effective communicator when working within a team, with partners, and autonomously using your own initiative.
  • Experience in creating signage and/or interpretation for different audiences. For example, digital design, briefings, interpretation panels, presentation.
  • Desirable: Practical, hands-on experience of crafting, use of hand tools etc.

The packageThe National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.
