Production Operative

A vacancy has arisen for a Production Operative to be based within our Kingsbury site in Tamworth.

Our Role

As a member of the production team, you will ensure smooth operation of the manufacturing process, ensuring targets are met whilst adhering to all company health and safety procedures and policies with a right first time, every time attitude. You will focus on achieving the highest levels of product quality whilst minimising waste using 5s and PIP tools, ensuring that you and your colleagues consistently comply with the Company’s health and safety policy to ensure safe working. You will actively partake in the development of health and safety documentation. You must be flexible in approach and have a strong desire to learn and progress. Training will be provided to ensure you have an understanding of Health and safety and basic QA.

What You’ll Do

  • Operation and cleaning of various pieces of factory machinery and equipment
  • Carry out all of the tasks in line with Company’s Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, Energy, Purchasing and Environmental Management policies and procedures and assist in the review of these when required
  • Reporting of all health and safety issues including near misses immediately with your manager
  • Maintain a positive working atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes cooperation with colleagues
  • Carry out all duties at the required output rate and accuracy levels
  • Record results (electronically or paper) in a timely and accurate manner
  • Contribute to specific projects as required
  • Adhere to and maintain new systems and procedures
  • Undertake all training required to undertake your role
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the level of the post

What You’ll Bring

  • Current / valid RTITB, ITSSAR, NPORS or CPCS forklift truck license with recent driving experience within the last six months is desirable / essential
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Safety conscious
  • Adaptable / flexible approach
  • Team player
  • Be able to carry out a broad range of tasks across all areas of the manufacturing process. Full guidance training will be given
  • Operate various pieces of factory machinery and equipment whilst using the hazard and production issue reporting systems
  • Must be literate as there is some paperwork involved
  • An understanding of QA standards and the importance of consistent high quality in manufacturing
  • Good general safety awareness
  • Excellent attendance and time keeping
  • Can do attitude and strive to meet higher targets
  • Performing manufacturing operations and an appreciation of FMCG / production line experience is desirable

Hours of Work: 6.00am to 5.00pm on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern
