Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Denton, Manchester,
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to be based at our Denton site in North Manchester.
Our Role
Working as part of the maintenance team, you will ensure that all plant equipment and machinery on site are operating efficiently with the minimum amount of downtime and they are kept in safe and good mechanical working order. You will ensure safe working at all times, with a right first time every time by everyone attitude to produce a cost effective, quality product whilst adhering to the Company’s policies and procedures.
What You’ll Do
- Carrying out essential maintenance on all aspects of the production lines working through a programme of PPM
- Helping to develop the agility maintenance system
- Attending breakdowns
- Ensuring machine safety standards are kept to the highest level and ensuring critical spares are maintained to ensure minimal downtime of the machinery
- Improving factory OEE through development and innovation of the production facility
- A good knowledge of Health and Safety and risk assessing is a must, along with an excellent attention to detail and quality
What You’ll Bring
- Apprentice-trained in mechanical discipline
- Time served fitter from a medium / heavy industrial background
- Maintenance experience and diagnostics of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical control
systems
- Control of contractors, procurement through external suppliers
- Good exposure to health & safety standards
- IT skills – working knowledge of MS Word, Excel & Outlook
- High Standard of pneumatic, hydraulic and drive chain fault finding abilities
- Knowledge of cutting & grinding regulations
- Arc & Mig welding / basic fabrication
- Bearing fitting & alignment
- Good working knowledge of EHS
- High standards with a passion for improvement with a target / delivery focused approach
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing
- Analytical & problem-solving skills
Hours of Work: Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 6.00am – 4.30pm and Saturday, 6.00am – 6.30pm
