Materials Solutions Ltd - A Siemens Energy Business - are currently recruiting for a Production Manager, based at our state of the art site in Worcester. The Production Manager will be responsible for running the production area`s being Build Process and Post build Processes.

A Snapshot of Your Day

You will be responsible for all Production operations ensuring that production output complies with company production requirements and quality standards also ensuring compliance to stipulated budgets regarding labour and materials. You will also be able to actively identify where improvements can be made and by using the appropriate improvement tools and by working closely with the Head of Operations to ensure that changes are effectively implemented.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Production output of all Operations from receipt of Works Orders to Dispatch in line with Work to Lists.
  • Run daily SQCDP Meeting with teams.
  • Updates and monitors Department KPI`s to ensure required business targets are being achieved.
  • Responsible for productivity and quality goals of the production plan.
  • Attends planning and scheduling meetings, organises and supervises labour, equipment, and manpower to ensure departmental adherence to plan.
  • Monitors machines and equipment for malfunction through OEE and orders adjustments or repairs.
  • Ensure all TPM schedules are being adhered to.
  • Ensure all health and safety requirements are adhered to by ensuring all personnel are trained in work instruction use and to ensure 6S standards are always adhered too and improved.
  • Identify skill and shift requirements to fulfil the production plan. Recruit the necessary resource to achieve this.
  • Responsible for coordinating training, assessment and sign-off of workers and in operation of machines and equipment.
  • Works closely with procurement to ensure all materials and consumables needed to meet schedule completion dates.
  • Works with Technical and Engineering personnel on new product development and process controls.
  • Ensures safe working conditions via supervision, audit and involvement in improvement activity.
  • Performs routine risk assessment and review and involves Facilities/HSE function as required.
  • Coordinates work with other shifts and departments to meet departmental needs.
  • Performs other duties, such as: issuing requisitions for materials from stores and from outside vendors. and expediting jobs in process to meet schedule and customer request dates.
  • Manages attendance and holiday schedules and personnel performance.
  • Appropriate, accurate and timely measurement of key metrics.
  • Contribute to projects, improvement plans, process control and RCCA.
  • Upholds the required quality and customer standards

What You Bring

  • Must be either of graduate caliber with management diploma and/or have equivalent experience within a management role
  • Proven experience of managing a team.
  • Must have experience as a Production Manager within a manufacturing business.
  • Good people leadership skills with the ability to ensure that good manufacturing procedures are adhered to and key deadlines are achieved.
  • Detailed knowledge of manufacturing scheduling and optimisation.
  • Has a good Knowledge of Operational Efficiency and OEE measures.
  • Good computer skills especially advanced MS Excel.
  • Proven skills in Lean and CI tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Ability to manage team size of 20-40 members.
