Our Material Solutions business based in Worcester has an opportunity for an EHS Manager to join the team. The role is key in supporting the business to reach world class status on all aspects of EHS, fostering a culture where EHS is an integral part of our behaviour at all levels.

Your profile

As the main point of contact for EHS matters, you will be passionate about providing Occupational Safety, Health, Environment and Sustainability leadership, advice and support to the business while developing, implementing and maintaining an effective EHS Management System which meets customer, regulatory, Siemens Energy stakeholder (SE, Divisional, UK regional) and business needs.

Qualifications/technical Competencies
  • CMIOSH status (working towards may be considered).
  • Minimum Grad IOSH accredited course such as NEBOSH Diploma.
  • Detailed knowledge of EHS legislation and requirements.
  • Minimum 5 years EHS experience including auditing.
  • Engineering or technical background.
Other
  • Computer literate and competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and negotiating skills and the ability to represent the EHS viewpoint to a high standard both internally and externally.
  • Effectiveness in dealing with personnel at all levels.
  • Able to work well within a team and independently.
  • Manufacturing experience (aerospace or other high tech sector would be beneficial).
Your Responsibilities

Working closely with colleagues from all levels of the business and also customers, regulators, third part auditors and EHS consultants, you will:
  • Be Responsible for implementation and enforcement of the EHS Policy.
  • Act as the designated ‘Competent Person’ taking responsibility for EHS legal compliance including management of applicable EHS legislation
  • Support development of business EHS strategy and establishment of Zero Harm Culture.
  • Support of staff well-being initiatives
  • Support adoption of standards including ISO45001 and ISO14001, applying a digital-first approach, working closely with the Head of Business Processes, Head of Operations and Head of Quality.
  • Be responsible for local EHS audit programme including conducting audits.
  • Be responsible for all third party EHS audit activities including Siemens Energy UK internal and regulatory audits.
  • Carry out investigations into non-compliances to find root causes and to recommend effective corrective actions.
  • Carry out investigations into accidents and incidents to find root causes and to recommend effective corrective actions.
  • Be responsible for staff EHS competency development, with close support and mentoring of the Risk Assessment Champions Team.
  • Coordinate with Siemens Energy EHS community.
  • Be responsible for EHS reporting including KPI development and management.
  • Conduct risk assessments/providing support to colleagues conducting risk assessments. Review and approval of risk assessments.
  • Support of Crisis Management activities.
  • Responsibility for EHS aspects of on-site contracted technical personnel including review of RAMS.
