Full Time, 37.5 hours/week

Permanent

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is a mental health and community trust that provides a wide and growing range of services across the boroughs of Bexley, Greenwich and Bromley. Due to the recent contract award from NHS England we will also be providing pharmacy services to the Kent and Medway prisons and the Dover Immigration Removal Centre.

The pharmacy department has a long history of innovation, with established prescribing guidelines, excellent relationships with medical staff, a strong culture of leading clinical audit and research projects and an excellent publication record. All of these attributes we wish to extend to the prison pharmacy services.

We believe in supporting our staff to develop to their full potential.

If you have a clinical background in mental health or prison pharmacy and are looking for an opportunity to expand pharmacy prison services, this post could be for you. The post will be responsible for providing clinical services to a cluster of prisons from the Kent and Medway group and to be the clinical governance pharmacy lead for this group. You will work with a small pharmacy team, including a medicines management technician for your cluster of prisons as well as providing responsible pharmacist support to the dispensary.

The post-holder will be based at the dedicated pharmacy department at HMP Rochester, but will routinely visit prison sites in Kent and Medway.

To (1) provide clinical pharmacy services to the allocated prison cluster and support the pharmacy technician on these visits and (2) be a responsible pharmacist in the dispensary when rostered. To organize on a weekly basis the pharmacy clinical service provision to the allocated cluster of prisons, planning your work and the work of others.
