Job Overview

Due to expansion we have an exciting vacancy for GPhC registered Pharmacy Technicians.

Applications are welcome from those working in community pharmacy or other pharmacy sectors.

Previous Hospital Pharmacy Experience Is Not Essential.

This is a band 4/5 progression post. The band 5 gateway covers accredited checking if not already obtained and leadership development if ACT already held.

A comprehensive in house competency will be delivered, including supervisory and leadership training, providing the skills required for hands on line management which will be offered once competent.

Main duties of the job

Providing excellent patient care to both inpatients, outpatients and external care units.

Working with the EPIC electronic prescribing system and Omnicell drug cabinets to provide an accurate, timely and cost effective pharmacy service.

Accurate labelling, dispensing and checking a wide range of prescription types including controlled drugs, clinical trials, total parenteral nutrition, chemotherapy, home IV and palliative care.

Medicines management rotations will allow direct patient contact and training in taking medications histories, medicines reconciliation, safe and correct use of prescribed medicines and patient counselling on new medications.

A competency unit will be issued for each area to ensure full training is delivered and competence is proven before you will be expected to work independently in these areas.
