If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!We are currently seeking Prisoner Custody Officers to join our client’s Custody team.Our client provide all court custody and escorting services in England and Wales between prisons, police stations and courts.Your starting salary on a 38-hour contract will be Your starting salary on a 38-hour contract will be £21,242 rising to £22,427 after 12 months. If you are a driver with aD License, your starting salary will be £26,676 on a 38-hour contract. Overtime is also available, although notguaranteed.The RoleAs a Prisoner Custody Officer your role is to provide court transportation services, collecting detainees from prisons or police stations and transporting them safely and securely to courts. Once there, you will be responsible for every aspect of their care until it’s time for them to return to custody, or to be released.What’s involved in this job?
  • The people in your care will have a variety of different needs and it will be your role to ensure those
individuals are treated with dignity and respect whilst maintaining a safe, secure and structuredenvironment.
  • You have full responsibility for every aspect of the physical and mental wellbeing of adults in your care,
ensuring their health, safety and wellbeing is a priority.
  • You will liaise with Prison and Police authorities, ensuring all documentation is completed and correct,
carrying out risk assessments on vulnerable or at-risk prisoners.Vehicle Based Role
  • You will transport prisoners (sometimes very high profile) from courts, police stations or prisons
  • You’ll be responsible for your vehicle each day, carrying out external and internal checks and also making sure your vehicle has sufficient equipment for the day, like food and water
  • You could also be carrying out custodial duties within a court location
What experience do I need?You will ideally need a Full UK Driving Licence but previous experience is not essential. It’s more about you and what you can bring to this role. Our client will be looking for the right behaviours to care for and help people that you are responsible for whilst on shift.Ask Yourself These Questions
