Working with other members of the Cyber and Technical Teams the post holder will provide expert in-depth threat and vulnerability analysis, implement robust controls, and provide leadership and insight in strengthening our defenses. This position will play a critical role in building on our Cyber resilience across the entire organisation.

It is expected that you will have a strong background in networking, enterprise IT architecture, and end user computing in addition to demonstrable experience and certification in cyber security threat analysis and risk management. Alongside these technical skills you will need to have good interpersonal skills to work with other team members and staff within the Trust and wider health community.

Training and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 1. Current Cyber Security certification(s) such as SSCP, CISSP, CEH, CISM, CRISC, etc.
  • 2. Educated to Master’s degree level or demonstrable recent equivalent experience.
  • 3. Evidence of continued professional development within a Cyber security discipline.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • 1. Demonstrable experience in conducting technical cyber security investigations into network, infrastructure, and applications.
  • 2. Experience of using various application, system, infrastructure, and network logs, to identify threats and issues, and in the utilisation and development of SIEM and SOAR products.
  • 3. Experience of designing and implementing Cyber Security defenses within an enterprise infrastructure
  • 4. Experience of identifying and classifying cyber threats and vulnerabilities and formulating a risk-based approach to Cyber Security.
  • 5. Has a clear understanding of information technology in a complex public sector organisation and has been involved in managing large scale Multiuser/System incidents
  • 6. Extensive knowledge of enterprise operating systems such as Microsoft

Communication and relationship skills

  • 1. Demonstrates the ability to build up and maintain relationships with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders.

  • 1. Ability to identify Cyber threats and malicious actors, and to classify and mitigate threats as they occur.
  • 2. To be able to balance complex workloads and prioritise threat investigations and mitigations.
  • 3. Ability to examine and interpret complex information and make valid contributions to decisions making at Senior Organisational level.
  • 4. Reach timely and effective decisions based on the appropriate use of information and IT systems.

Planning and Organisational skills

  • 1. Ability to manage differing and conflicting demands made on service delivery by the users, staff, and external parties.
  • 2. Able to prioritise you own workloads and those of your team members.

Salary: The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
