Job Description

We currently have an opportunity for a Principal Consultant to join our Suiko business providing specialist Lean services across the manufacturing, defence, construction and infrastructure sectors.

This will be a hybrid role- Work from home and client site when necessary

Core purpose of the role

Delivery of Lean transformation programmes, using operational excellence in line with clients strategy and business goals. Contribute to the development of Suiko strategy including brand, products and propositions.

Key Accountabilities

Deliver the project
  • Contribute to the development of the project brief and delivery framework with the client
  • Drive results and deliver the project implementation plan on a day to day basis
  • Ensure practices (tools and behaviours) and processes are used appropriately and that projects are delivered according to Suiko methodology
  • Ensure that weekly project targets are met and significant financial benefits are achieved for our clients
  • Ensure delivery of consultancy work to clients is to a professional standard
Manage Change
  • Identify and galvanise client resources into action on assigned projects
  • Train, coach and advise leaders and front line teams to ensure that sound project management and change management techniques are adopted
  • Train, coach and advise client management teams to ensure the adoption of new and sustainable behaviours
  • Develop clients’ internal capability, practices and disciplines to ensure knowledge transfer and adoption of sustainable practices
Build effective customer relations
  • Develop effective daily formal and informal communications with client leaders and their front line teams
  • Contribute to the development of effective formal and informal communications with senior key stakeholders
  • Support sales activities, write proposals, support tender submissions
Drive your personal development
  • Identify development needs with your line manager to ensure continued growth and learning
  • Develop and share expertise in key sector/practice area with Suiko team
  • Be a role model for Suiko Values (Nurture, Enjoy, Create, Tell it how it is, Live, Grow, Be Proud)

Qualifications
  • Proven experience of leading and facilitating continuous improvement programmes using Lean thinking principles and operational excellence practices
  • CV should show accomplishment and personal growth
  • Passion and commitment for a career in consultancy and associated lifestyle
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills – high energy levels, engaging manner and positive attitude
  • Ambition and drive to achieve a leadership role over 2 to 3 year timeline
  • Excellent time management skills and proven ability to work independently
  • Ability to develop deep understanding of Suiko methodology and approach
  • IT Skills – good working knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel applications
Desirable
  • World class exposure to lean / operational excellence
  • Consultancy experience (external or internal)
  • Proven track record of team leadership and project management skills
  • Good networking skills – active on LinkedIn and regular attendance at industry events
  • Awareness of the need to maximise relationships with key players in order to identify new business opportunities for Suiko
  • Work experience within current target sectors – manufacturing, defence, construction and infrastructure
