Are you an experience and qualified SEN Teacher looking to join a caring special school with outstanding opportunities for personal and professional development?

Axcis Education is working in partnership with a new and purpose built special in Teignbridge who are seeking a talented SEN Teacher to teach general subjects across all key stages and to become a key member within their school from end Jan 2022 on a long term basis. This role is very likely to become permanent.

The school specialises in supporting children and young people children and young people between the ages of 7 and 19 who would benefit from a special school environment because of barriers to learning, which include sensory processing needs and anxiety. Many of the pupils have SEMH or ASC.

This SEN Teacher position will teach a variable timetable of all year groups. You will be required to plan and deliver lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.

Responsibilities include:
" Planning lessons
" Delivering innovative, exciting and dynamic lessons
" Assessing and recording students’ progress, preparing reports and taking part in parental consultations
" Undergoing in-service training where required
" Observing and implementing current school policies and good practice
" Contributing to pupil progress across the whole school

The ideal candidate will have
" A flexible and resourceful approach to teaching
" You will be able to demonstrate positive reinforcement
" Recognised teaching qualification PGCE or equivalent (QTS).
" A proven background in teaching pupils with SEMH and ASC
" The ability to quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students.
" A minimum of 12 months of teaching experience
" Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa)
" Enhanced DBS/Police checks

Hours are 8.30 am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday with a daily pay rate of circa £130 per day. The role will start in late Jan / early Feb in a long-term capacity.
