Overview

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to lead our popular and happy Pre-School. Developing our Early Years children from the ages of 2 to 5, working closely with our Reception class teacher, Little Apples Pre-School is an important and exciting part of Speen CofE School.

Term time only

Salary Type:Bucks pay

Salary details:Fixed Term initially for 1 year with the potential to extend

Hours:08:30 - 1:00 OR 3:00PM

About The Role

The role will be hands on, working directly with the children, with key person responsibilities, whilst having responsibility for the management of the provision.

We are looking for someone who has previous nursery / pre-school experience and is seeking the next step in their career as a leader of our provision. Full guidance and development support will be given.

You will have vision, energy and drive to run the day to day care and education of the room. Little Apples is well resourced, forward thinking and makes an important contribution to the Early Years Foundation Stage of the school. Our children are well behaved, keen and adventurous learners and our school’s Christian values are central to all that we do.

You will have previous relevant experience, an EYFS qualification (NVQ level 3 or equivalent in childcare) and be able to demonstrate high level organisational skills, commitment and passion to ensure that every child in our pre-school is able to reach their full potential.

  • Has an excellent understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Has a good level of experience in planning learning and play activities which develop children’s academic, social and emotional development
  • Understands the importance of assessment for learning and is effective in leading the monitoring and tracking of children’s progress in order to

improve their outcomes
  • Is efficient in ensuring paperwork trails meet all statutory requirements
  • Is highly effective in their current work with children, demonstrating positive and caring relationships
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills, able to lead and inspire a staff team, modelling good practice and take initiative
  • Has a passion for both indoor and outdoor learning
  • Ensures a safe, secure, welcoming and inclusive environment
  • Develops positive partnerships with parents
  • Is innovative in seeking new opportunities and experiences and committed to ongoing professional development
  • Is able to market the provision and make use of social media, to maintain a high profile within the community
