About us

We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Finance Business Partner in the new Buckinghamshire Council, playing a key role in supporting our large and diverse Communities, Resources, and Deputy Chief Executive Directorates, by providing a finance business partnering service to a number of Directors and Senior Leadership Team.

There are 3 roles available across three areas:

The Communities Directorate covers a wide range of specialisms, Culture Sport & Leisure, Highways & Technical Services, Neighbourhoods Services, and Transport Services.

The Resources Directorate covers a wide range of specialisms, including Human Resources, Finance, ICT and Business Operations.

The Deputy Chief Executive Directorate covers a wide range of specialisms, including Localities and Strategic Partnerships, Service Improvement, Legal and Democratic Services and Policy and Communication Services.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will provide a finance business partnering service to a number of Budget Managers, the Director and the Senior Leadership Team within your appointed Directorate with a particular focus on; ensuring the accuracy of budget, budget monitoring, financial analysis, adding value to decision making and effective team management.

These are 12-month fixed term/secondment opportunities.

About you

This post is currently available for a fully qualified CCAB or CIMA accountant, with significant experience of working in a Public Sector environment (preferable from Local Government), excellent communication & problem solving skills, and experience working in an ever-changing environment. You need to be able to work on your own initiative, as well as within the team and under pressure to achieve tight deadlines. Good communication skills and a proven ability to work with complex data and spreadsheets are essential.
