WHAT TO EXPECT :


Powertrain Strategy team offers a unique opportunity to influence future Powertrain cycle plan & products. An opportunity to get insight on future cycle plan, interact with multiple stakeholders (Marketing, Product Strategy, Finance, Engineering etc.), to understand future trends in automotive industry and define future Powertrain line ups & prepare compelling business cases for board approvals.


Key accountabilities and responsibilities:


  • Define & control Powertrain line up charts in collaboration with markets & programmes to satisfy competitive & compliant customer offer.
  • Own and manage Powertrain cycle plan database and updates.
  • Lead Powertrain emissions planning for different markets.
  • Lead business case development of major propulsion commodities for board approval.
  • Develop & maintain Whole life plan for propulsion & vehicle in coordination with commodity teams & vehicle programmes.
  • Support vehicle programmes with strategy deliverables.
  • Support finance provisions & cost for future programme.
  • Perform analysis of market conditions, trends and forecasts to support business priorities and proactively identify potential business opportunities.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED :


Essential:

  • To be highly numerate, capable of detailed analysis and dealing with extensive data sets.
  • Very good understanding of Powertrain technologies and Electrification.
  • Powertrain, Product Strategy or Cycle Planning experience is ideal.
  • Thorough understanding of Market trends (consumers, segmentation, macroeconomics etc.).
  • Very high levels of product, competitor and market awareness.
  • Educated to degree level, ideally in an engineering discipline, Business Administration or Marketing
  • A customer first and data driven mind-set.
  • Soft skills:
o MS Access -Form design (macros), Query construction – table relationships, Tables
o MS Excel – VBA (complex macros), VLookups, Pivot tables, Tables and slicers.
o MS Sharepoint – Site creation / modification, Access Control.
o Tableau Prep – Preparation of data.
o Tableau Desktop – Creation of worksheets

Desirable:

  • Understanding of NCBS, IHS, Markit Insight and customer target methodology.
  • Powertrain, Product Strategy or Cycle / Volume Planning experience is ideal.
  • Very high levels of product, competitor and market awareness
  • Previous experience of competitor analysis.
