The primary purpose of a Postal Clerk is provide support to the Post Master. This includes processing inbound and outbound mail and parcels, dealing with customers, responding to queries, and the use of a computerised system.

The candidate must have physical capability as part of the team, to lift parcels and mail sacks up to 70 lbs or 31.7 kg in accordance with manual handling and safe lifting practices. The post holder must be able to communicate effectively with customers and be familiar with Microsoft Office programmes.

The post holder should have a good working knowledge of internet and email usage or be willing to undertake on the job training to obtain integral skills for post office operations.
