Planning Manager – Bakkavor Meals Wigan
£38,000-£45,000 depending on experience
Sunday - Thursday 8am- 5pm
25 days holiday + Bank Holidays

Job purpose:To deliver accurate forecast volumes in conjunction with Commercial and the customer. To lead a team that generates accurate plans that deliver the order and maximise our service level. To take responsibility for the long term forecasting and capacity planning

Accountabilities

  • Accountable for the performance criteria associated with forecast accuracy, service level to despatch, out of life material disposals, SKU runs per week and attainment to best practice.
  • Co-ordinate the Sales & Operation Planning process, to deliver a “business owned” forecast. Forecast, long-term, for use in supporting decision making and CEP submission. Forecasting short term, to ensure production stability and customer service.
  • Ensure accurate information is communicated in a timely and efficient manner. Cultivate contact with customers and logistics team to build trust and recommend changes in practices.
  • Keep planning manual & training matrix updated with all current processes & procedures
  • Provide capacity information for the business to base long-term decisions on. Input to longer-term business strategy and recommend changes to policy. Take decisions, which impact on profitability and customer relationships.
  • Determine inventory levels and replenishment rules to minimise out of life disposals from raw materials to finished product. This to be achieved by balancing the most efficient weekly production cycles with the optimum daily volumes.
  • Control Waste levels by challenging operational performance to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Analyse and reports on the financial impact of manufacturing costs (factory efficiencies and variances) day to day.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement within the planning function. Determine changes, write, deliver and implement department’s CEP’s. Adopt “Best Practice” processes and standards. Contribute to and supports the Business Plan by developing the Planning Strategy
