Materials Controller – Bakkavor Meals, Wigan
Sunday – Thursday 9am-6pm
£22,000 - 25,000 Per Annum
25 days holiday

Bakkavor Meals, based in Wigan, specialises in making chilled ready meals, food to go salads and vegetable accompaniments and employs over 1,000 people. It is part of the Bakkavor Meals sector which has eight factories in the UK.

JOB DETAIL
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Materials Controller work closely with the wider Supply Chain Team and be responsible for all aspects relating to the supply of materials and packaging to site.

Your Responsibilities
  • You will build relationships with suppliers, provide forecasts and place orders; you will also work collaboratively to resolve issues.
  • On site, you will work with other functions throughout all stages of the life cycle of particular products.
  • Ensure variances are explored and demand is reviewed to ensure maximum availability and minimum waste.
  • As a departmental liaison for daily re-active tasks, supporting the team as necessary offering creative solutions to problem solving.
  • Support the team’s performance against KPI’s, puts forward ideas and solutions to aid continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Creative thinking, with the ability to offer considered solutions under own initiative.
  • Strong ability to influence others both internally and externally and cross function.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and manage time effectively.
  • Analytical approach to data interpretation.
