We are looking for a high performing and energetic Business Manager to develop this exciting post within the Pharmacy. This is a 1 year fixed term contract to cover the secondment of the current post holder.

Based primarily at Stoke Mandeville Hospital the post holder will be responsible for helping to develop transform and deliver the strategic priorities of the Pharmacy service in line with local and national objectives. This will be through the introduction of high quality and efficient business systems that support the delivery of a high performing pharmacy service. You will work with senior pharmacy staff and external stakeholders to implement business solutions to improve transparency of medicine use and meet financial and performance objectives through innovative processes. You will have experience of project and change management and have well developed influencing and people management skills. Improved performance will be monitored by the post holder through Model Hospital and other key performance metrics.

This role will be pivotal in embedding productivity changes from the initial implementation as well as expanding best practice in all areas, while maintaining long term delivery.

The Business Manager for Pharmacy is jointly responsible with the Chief Pharmacist and Director of Pharmacy (CP), Associate Directors of Pharmacy and other Senior Leaders to provide overall leadership and direction of the Pharmacy Department. Within the Integrated Care System the post holder will be responsible for helping to develop, deliver and co-ordinate innovation and transformation of Pharmacy Services in line with key strategic directions.
  • play a key role in identifying opportunities for clinical and scientific innovation and modernisation, delivery of departmental targets and in continually improving the quality of services to patients
  • helping to redesign services to meet RPS Standards, improving efficiency and effectiveness within available resources.
  • assist the pharmacy senior management team by providing efficient and effective management in the department,
  • ensure that services are responsive, innovative and provided to the highest possible clinical and performance standards.
  • improve service delivery and patient experience in key areas
  • lead on ensuring that all performance and quality targets are met.
  • develop systems and processes to improve the working lives of staff
  • problem-solve and develop and implement lasting solutions
  • be a key member of the Pharmacy Management Team
