Come and join our exciting and dynamic Children and Young People’s Therapy team.

We are looking to recruit a band 6 Community Occupational Therapist to join our Children and Young People’s team. The position is based in Wycombe and Amersham, please note there is an expectation to work across the county as required.

Buckinghamshire has an integrated therapy team which forms part of a wider children and young people’s service including occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, health visitors and school nurses. This is a jointly commissioned service that will give you the opportunity to use your innovative and dynamic OT skills to influence the delivery of high quality, evidence based interventions for children and young people in Buckinghamshire.

You will be joining an experienced team of Occupational Therapists and Therapy Clinical Assistants working with children and young people from 0 – 19 years of age, across health, education and social care provision with a wide range of functional difficulties and disabilities. You will be required to deliver regular therapy and train teaching staff to support the children effectively. The post may also involve working as a Link Therapist within a number of schools, building strong working relationships with school staff.

In Buckinghamshire we are at the forefront of technological innovation. Our team of clinicians use a wide range of apps and tools on the iPad for assessment, therapy, demonstration and motivation. We have a superb website with many useful links and access to our resource packs, handouts and general guides for development.

We are a very supportive team and pride ourselves on our strong commitment to supervision and CPD. All staff receive regular clinical supervision and the Preceptorship programme is offered for newly qualified therapists. A range of specialist training will be available, via internal and external courses, mentoring, clinical supervision, attendance at regional and national CYPF meetings, the OT show etc.

Applications will be considered for up to 37.5 hours a week and there would be the opportunity to discuss a number of flexible working arrangements.
